Basketball / Project ”women's sports” : 36 women equipped

The project camps ”women's sports ” started on tuesday 28 last June at the Basketball level ended on Friday 15 July 2022. Throughout the training period, the 36 trainees participating women acquired knowledge likely to promote the concrete implementation of this project of the Embassy of France near Benin in concert with the Ministry of Sports.

Slowly but surely. The project ”women's sports ” supported by the French Embassy in Benin in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports is slowly taking shape. After the Benin Athletics Federation a few weeks ago, it is the turn of the basketball management body in Benin to lay the groundwork for the implementation of this project. It is through a training course that took into account 36 women from the twelve departments of Benin. For two weeks this refresher seminar lasted under the aegis of French experts, the participants were equipped in several areas, namely : personal development, le coaching, Arbitration and Table Score Official. On the occasion of the said training which took place in Porto- Novo, the participants are divided into six different camps. “We are leaving Benin satisfied with the work and the technical level of the ladies. Beninese women's basketball has a bright future ahead of it," rejoices Blandine Gaulon., expert spokesperson. Ditto on the side of the beneficiaries of the training who promise to put the notions received at the service of Beninese basketball. "We are happy to have acquired solid knowledge and we promise to continue the work once in our respective localities to promote the discipline through the sharing of experiences acquired during the camps" suggested Assanatou Ousmane on behalf of his pairs. Present at the closing ceremony of the training workshop, the president of the Benin Basketball Federation praised the work done by the experts while inviting the trainees to properly accomplish their mission once on the ground. "The legend continues and we are more than ever committed to supporting you in achieving your goals in your different localities" reassures the boss of the basket ball in Benin Ismahil Onifadé.
