Audience at the National Assembly: Noukpo Agossou received by Louis Vlavonou

Professor Noukpo Agossou was in the hemicycle to present his new opus to the second personality of Benin. Titled “Fundamentals of geography of Benin”, This work is the second edition of a project which aims to make Beninese people aware of their nation.

“The purpose of my visit is to come and present to the President of the National Assembly the second edition of the geography work that I produced on Benin and which is entitled : “Fundamentals of geography of Benin”. According to the University Geographer-Planner, Professor Noukpo Agossou, the objective pursued, it is not only to introduce him to the second edition since he had already had to acquire and therefore become thoroughly familiar with the first edition which dates from 2016. And since it is he who is the head of the parliamentary institution, that he can help me reach the honorable deputies in the National Assembly”, declared the former head of the Department of Geography and Territorial Planning at the University of Abomey Calavi during the June period 2007 never 2010. Also he wanted, what ” the document can be sufficiently popularized across the country at the level of both primary and secondary education establishments.”

He also promised that he would find a time to bring me back so that I could present the document to the honorable deputies while demonstrating pedagogy, bearing in mind that this audience is not made up of specialists in the matter.”.

As a reminder, Full Professor authorized to direct Research [African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (LEGS)] Abomey-Calavi University and Porto-Novo University, Noukpo Agossou has held several positions including the Scientific Directorate of the Center for Study and Research in Planning, Development, Environment (CÉRADE). He actively participates in joint research programs at Aix Marseille University- LPED/ University of Abomey-Calavi on various themes linked to urbanization and the dynamics and socio-economic changes of the urban region of the Beninese coast. Author of several publications including “Zemijan taxi-motos in Porto-Novo and Cotonou”. Elsewhere, n° 32 theme Transport in the South. Powers, places and links, pp. 235-248, Noukpo Agossou is one of Africa’s great scientific researchers.
