An initiative of the Organization of Blind Women of Benin with the technical and financial support of Oxfam in Benin acting for Mondiales Canada and which aimed to equip participants on different themes for a better social inclusion of this layer in the Beninese society.

Through this training course, the project "Achieving inclusion together in Benin" is entering its active phase. A project whose objective is to support women with visual disabilities in the enjoyment of their rights. For Noélie Adjanohoun, OFAB president, the project aims to contribute to the full participation of women with disabilities in decision-making processes in the Atlantic and Littoral departments. She added that the workshop was organized to build the capacity of women with visual disabilities, physical and auditory, members of networks of associations of disabled people from the Coast and Atlantic region as well as the Federation of associations of disabled people of Benin (FAPHB).

For its part, the Representative of Oxfam in Benin confided that the objectives pursued by "Succeeding together in inclusion in Benin" meet those of his organization, which is committed to, through the multiannual funds of the "Voice and leadership of women" program to promote the rights of women and girls for the enjoyment of their human rights and promote the progress of gender equality in Benin. During the three days of the workshop, the participants were trained by executives from the National Institute for the Promotion of Women (INPF) on different themes with a view to better inclusion of this social layer in Benin society.

Note that the latter will benefit, throughout the three years of project implementation, capacity building sessions on different themes such as gender theory, feminism, gender-based violence, masculinity, economic empowerment, mechanisms for the protection of women's rights in Benin, issues related to social participation, politics and economics of women in Benin.
