Repeated traffic accidents in Adjohoun : The municipal authorities decided to stop the bloodletting

The Adjohoun municipal council, led by Mayor François Zannougbo, is determined to find suitable solutions so that there are fewer cases of traffic accidents on the RN4, particularly in the Sissèkpa depression., district of Azowlisse. To achieve this, he has taken a battery of measures lately.

Deaths, injuries and material damage. This is what users of the National Road number 4 Dangbo- Adjohoun- Bonou- Ouinhi-Kpédékpo have been facing each other for several months. In the commune of Adjohoun, the Sissèkpa depression in the district of Azowlissè turns out to be the sanctuary of these road tragedies. Since a few weeks, there is not this week where we do not deplore cases of traffic accidents either in the depression or on the rise towards the Azowlissè crossroads. Most of the time, these accidents involve large vehicles.. Faced with this state of affairs, the municipal authorities have taken a series of measures.

No longer knowing which saint to devote to following repeated cases of Sissèkpa depression, Mayor François Zannougbo involved the guardians of tradition and the crowned heads of his commune for a solution to the situation. Indeed, after a session on Friday 17 June 2022 following the latest case of traffic accident on Tuesday 14 June 2022, the dignitaries of the endogenous cults of Adjohoun are invited to consult the oracle “Fa”to find out more about the causes of these misfortunes which strike users at this level of national road No. 4. After detecting the signs revealed by the oracle Fâ, place is made for the sacrifices called “Vôssissa” on the premises with the dignitaries of the divinity ”Ogoo”. Apart from this, other sacrifices are still announced in the same place.

Apart from the sacrifices in the Sissèkpa depression, other drastic measures are activated by Mayor François Zannougbo and his municipal council to bring drivers of large vehicles to order. Car, the observation shows that most of the accidents recorded on the Depression-rise section of Sissèkpa are caused by the drivers of river sand trucks who load oversize. To do this, the municipal authority and a team of the Republican Police of its territory carried out on Friday 24 June 2022 an unexpected descent on the road at the front of the Adjohoun zone hospital. The operation consists of identifying river sand trucks that have made illegal changes. Several oversized sand loading trucks have paid the price for these measures. They were therefore prohibited from passing through the section until further notice.. Construction of the high school, the route going to Sahoro is chosen to serve as a diversion for the drivers of these trucks for their final destination.
