9th edition of the University Games of Benin, Savalou 2023: The OBSSU for the revelation of talents

After having given a new direction to the "Sports Classes" Project since 2019, the Ministry of Sports through the Beninese Office of School and University Sports (OBSU) continues the dynamic implemented since 2016 by President Patrice Talon to reveal Beninese Sport in all its forms. It is in this methodically well-crafted march that young athletes from public and private universities have had the opportunity to express their talent since 30 last January in Savalou.

Indeed, 58 private and public universities divided into five (05) Zones participated in the zonal phase hence 32 university entities have managed to get their ticket for this final phase. “We want this time, together with actors from private and public universities, set up something coherent, well followed, which allows the expression of talents in the university environment.” declared the head of Beninese sports, Oswald Homéky last October. In his opening speech, the Director General of the OBSSU did not fail to express his gratitude to the President Patrice Talon with regard to all that he undertakes for the influence of Beninese sport.
