50th edition of the Mondial de Pétanque in Cotonou : Discovering Marcel Bio and Gérard Agossa

At the foot of the Amazon 8 at 17 September 2023, the bowling party promises to be epic and the organization will be up to the task of the sporting event. And, this requires infrastructure worthy of the name. The exceptional playground concocted for the cause is proof of what awaits the thousands of participants in Cotonou. But while waiting for the big day, let's discover two bowlers who will be the pride of Benin during this competition.

Marcel Terrazini Bio aka Robot : Terror

He is the star of an entire nation, and G.S. O. A. T of this discipline in Benin. Nicknamed the ROBOT by admirers, BIO Marcel is the man for all situations. By his surgical shots, its extraordinary precision and deafening calm, it makes more than one tremble.

Trained in Ajax training of BOUNDAROU, the Captain of the CHEETAHS joined the hexagon where he evolves in the club, Sainte-JEANNAISE petanque. World Vice-Champion in 2016, the prince of Parakou, African marksmanship champion 2019 is one of the very best shooters in Africa. Listed in 4 tests (precision shots, head to head, doublet and triplet), the best player in the world 2016 will pass a marathon world cup. Accessing the highest steps of the podium this year is the dream of the captain of the Cheetahs of 32 years.

Gérard AGOSSA: The X factor

In 1982, he is taking part in his very first official competition. According to his contemporaries, no words could describe his journey and his art. In 2004, Gérard AGOSSA, the child of zinvié in the town of Abomey-Calavi, discovers the high level at the Grenoble World Cup. Aligned in triplet and precision shooting, he won bronze. One year later, the magical left-hander is one stone away from the gold unfairly offered to his Thai opponent following a controversial arbitration decision. 17 years later,  Gérard AGOSSA responds favorably to the call of the homeland. His proven experience in this sport and his winning mentality is a key asset that he will make available to his younger brothers and sisters.. The former PC guns of Aïdjèdo is already in his world. “I am certain that we will amaze the people of Benin” says Gerard AGOSSA.
