4e Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Cohort: 63 new beneficiaries welcomed

The Idriss Déby Itno Amphitheater at the University of Abomey-Calavi served as the setting for the welcoming ceremony of 63 new beneficiaries of 4e Mastercard Foundation Scholarship Cohort. Before the rector authorities, parents, members of the program and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (Mesrs), the 63 new beneficiaries of the program have made a commitment to reflect the image that the program projects on them.

The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program is a project that aims to train and develop the next generation of leaders who will participate in the social and economic development. It aims to equip young Beninese who are academically brilliant but come from disadvantaged social backgrounds, of skills and knowledge so that they are vectors of social and economic change in Benin and the continent. The theme chosen for this fourth promotion is "Training young leaders in the service of grassroots communities".

For Professor Maxime da Crus, Rector of Uac, this program is a commitment made to accompany these children in the acquisition of knowledge, know-how and know-how. He urged them to focus on their goal. “Work better and better to meet the academic and para-academic challenges that arise on your path”, hinted, the rector of Uac.

The content of the scholarship is among others, a laptop computer, training costs, didactic materials, monthly subsistence allowance (to cover catering and transportation), Health Insurance, accommodation, research costs at the end of the cycle, internship costs in the service of volunteers. “We are committed to reflecting the image that the program projects on us, that of well-educated young citizens, able to create impact and move Africa and the world”, they said raising their right hand. Pour Karen Pokou, representative of 63 Mastercard scholarship holders, it's a dream that has become a reality and they intend to seize it. “We are aware of the opportunity you offer us to express our potential”, did they say. “The road is long but you have to believe in it”, work on the Messrs, Eléonore Yayi Ladekan. She urged recipients to work unconditionally. “Apply yourself to bring good results in order to be role models”, she told the 63 fellows.
