44th edition of the African Champion Clubs Championships : Adjidja Hbc, a record that demands respect

In Brazzaville, during this 44th edition of the African Handball Champion Clubs Championships,  Adjidja HBC created a surprise by having a perfect run in the group before losing in the quarter-finals. However, after the draw, hope was more than in parentheses. Primero d’Agosto for the ladies and Al Ahly for the men were crowned.

For a first participation, it’s a journey that deserves respect. The reigning Benin champion defied the predictions by pulling out all the stops. The men of Adjidja Hbc did not give up in the group. Three victories in as many matches respectively against the Cameroonians of A.NziKo (35-34), the Ivorians of Red Star (31-27) and the Congolese Petro Sport (35-26). Unfortunately Mathieu Dako's foals fell behind in the quarter-finals against Jeune Sportive de Kinshasa (33- 35). Au finish, the Beninese Armed Forces club occupied the 6^th place after once again dominating Petro Sport of Congo (32-29) before disappearing in front of Nziko (24-31). Good lessons to learn from this competition to do better in the years to come. It is already a strong signal that more than ever, Beninese handball is on its way to the highest summits.

This comeback in the most beautiful club competition of a Beninese club had been hoped for for several years. The military club, Adjidja HBC for its first participation makes this dream come true thanks to the unreserved commitment of its vice-president Jean Sodji. The complicity between Jean Sodji second vice-president of the Beninese Handball Federation and its president Sidikou Karimou carried this hope nourished by the president of the African Handball Confederation.

Discreet advisor, the president of the African Handball Confederation Aremou Mansourou is a strong supporter of national handball. 6 sorties, 4 victories and two defeats. A historic quarter-final for Mathieu Dako's protégés which will do great good for the ranking of the Beninese Handball Federation and which is the pride of the first boss of continental Handball.

Primero d’Agosto on the roof of Africa for the ladies and Al Ahly for the men

Started on 28 last september, the curtains fell on the 44th edition of the African Champions Club Championship this Saturday 7 October 2023 in Brazzaville in Congo. At the ladies, it was the players of Primero d’Agosto who triumphed in a final 100% Angolan. Opposed to their compatriots from Petro Atlético, the red and black won 28 at 26 at the end of a hotly contested final. Third place for the Congolese women of the DGSP. They imposed themselves 33 at 23 against the Egyptians of Al Ahly.

Al Ahly in Gold for 6^th  times in Man

Facing the Congolese from Kinshasa of the JSK, Cairo took part in a one-sided final. Too strong for the Sports Youth of Kinshasa, Al Ahly of Egypt folded the match 37 at 23 in a room Nicole Oba nevertheless committed to the cause of the people of Kinshasa.
