40th World Food Day. An essay competition organized by the MAEP

The international community will commemorate the 16 next october, the 40th World Food Day. In this context and on the sidelines of the launch of the 24th edition of Téléfood, the Ministry of Agriculture, breeding and fishing (Maep) organizes a letter writing competition for students in the first cycle of secondary education and for neo-literate producers.

"Cultivate, feed, preserve. Ensemble, act for the future ". This is the theme around which the various participants will focus their thoughts. The first step is for potential candidates to write to a friend to tell them about this year's World Food Day on the theme of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) : "Cultivate, feed, preserve. Ensemble, act for the future ". Ensuite, share with them their understanding of the topic by explaining how sustainable access to healthy and sufficient food is one of the essential measures in the response to Covid-19, especially for the poorest and vulnerable groups. And finally, the writing will be handwritten and cannot exceed 2000 words. The Maep press release specifies that candidates will compose in French and neo-literates in one of the languages ​​Adjagbé, Batonou, Dendi, Fongbé, Goungbé, Minan and Nagot. The same press release points out that applications for the competition will be sent to the Departmental Directors of Agriculture, breeding and fishing (Daep) then must be deposited at the DDAEP offices no later than 4 September 2020 at 6.30 p.m.. otherwise, the Maep press release noted that the written compositions will be carried out throughout the national territory at the level of the DDAEP on 18 September 2020 at 8 p.m.. It should be noted that participating in this competition will help to raise public awareness alongside the Fao and the Maep in the fight against poverty and hunger on the occasion of the organization of World Food Day and the launch of the 24th edition of Téléfood.
