11st phase of the professional Volleyball championship : Already satisfactory points

After the chapter 1 of the professional volleyball championship season 2023-2024, the second phase will take off next weekend. But before, the Beninese Volleyball Federation made the technical assessment of the phase 1 of said championship.

According to the National Technical Director of the Beninese Volleyball Federation, this new form of the championship is allowing athletes to have many more matches in order to make a good impression during international games. “I firmly believe that this new form of the championship will yield interesting results in the months to come”, said Franck Médétongnon Lokonon. This will be demonstrated by the number of matches played by each team and the effort that each athlete must make to bring their club to the podium.. This requires hard work within each technical staff”.

Speaking of performance, the DTN indicated that players are already standing out for their talent: “At the ladies’ level, two brilliantly distinguished themselves with the same number of distinctions. These are Fatoumata Binta Bah from Vesos and Djamila Kora from Adjidja, with eight distinctions each. At men's, it was Raoul Garba of Giba Omn who reigned by displaying his talent. He was awarded MVP 10 times in 18 days ».

In terms of the ranking he reveals “Among the men, Energy takes first place with 47 points followed by Allada Olympics (45 points), Movement (38 points), Finances (38 points), Police (34 points), Dynamic (28 points), Goodbye (21 points) and Réal Sports (8 points). These eight teams are qualified for the play-offs while, As Cotonou (9and with 8 points) et Aso Nougnon (10and with 3 points) will compete in the Pro League next. On the women's side, it was Queens Vbc which largely dominated this first phase of the championship with 35 points, very far ahead of Vesos, 27 points. Adjidja takes 3rd place with 23 points while Allada finished this phase in 4th place with 18 points. On his side, Dynamic is 5th with 12 points while Energie is in 6th place with 11 points. As Cotonou brings up the rear with no victory ».

Note that the second phase will be launched on Saturday 13 July with combined quarter-final matches. The return leg takes place on the weekend of 20 at 21 July 2024.
